During the Fall, breathe deeper to recharge the lungs

rochester_acupuncture_breathing_meditation

“During the Fall, one must keep the Lung energy full, clean and quiet. This is the time to gather one’s spirit and energy, be more focused, and not allow desires to run wild. This means practicing breathing exercises to enhance Lung Qi and refraining from grief, the emotion of the Lung.”

~ From the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine.

That’s why we would like to suggest some very simple breathing exercise:

Bring your attention to your breathing:

feel how the air enters… feel how the air leaves…

feel how the air enters… feel how the air leaves…

feel how the air enters… feel how the air leaves…

Try doing this several times during the day, in different places and circumstances. Then, observe how you feel, observe the quality of your emotions and thoughts. Any moment that something doesn’t feel right, go back to the breath

Advice from the Heart

shrine_chikhor_duchen

“My advice is to try to be the sky
and to host the cloud and the rain,
rather than being the cloud and the rain.
Try to continuously experience the stillness of the body,
the silence of the speech,
and the spaciousness of the mind,
while allowing the emotion.”

~ Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
